Nesara Centre for Culture

Nesara Centre for Culture sits on the Kanakapura Main Road side of Bangalore, in the Kaggalipura and Uttari area, set among trees and flowering plants. It is a venue for large, outdoor-style weddings, with several spaces on one property.

The spaces, and what each is listed to hold:

• The large lawn is the main wedding space, with seating for about 1,000 and room for about 4,000 standing.
• The small lawn is an outdoor space with seating for about 500 and room for about 750 standing.
• Banquet 1 is an indoor hall with seating for about 400 and room for about 750 standing.
• The exclusive dining space is indoors, with seating for about 250.
• The bridal villa has a pool beside it. It is an outdoor space that holds about 50 seated or 150 standing, and it suits a bridal suite, a haldi or a small function.

The venue has dance floors, a podium and live music, and an in-house DJ, though you can bring your own. Outside caterers and outside decorators are allowed, and guests can bring their own alcohol. Guest rooms are available on the property. Sources give different room counts, between 11 and 17, so we confirm the number with the venue when you enquire.

What to plan for:

• The venue is on the outskirts and quite remote. Guests have told us that cab apps often will not come, so arrange cars or a bus for out-of-town and elderly guests.
• Some guests have said the washrooms were not kept clean, and that the rest rooms are far from the halls. Ask to see them when you visit.
• Some reviewers say the site is hard for wheelchair users, and that the ground near the entrance is uneven. If you have elderly or less mobile guests, check the walking distances first.
• Older reviews mention heat and mosquitoes outdoors, so ask about the evening arrangements for your season.
