Angana The Courtyard

Angana The Courtyard is a stone villa with gardens at Kaggalipura, about 25 km out on Kanakapura Road. It is run as a rustic resort, with lawns, shaded trees and a homely, ancestral-house feel, rather than as a purpose-built wedding hall.

It suits a small function or an intimate wedding. The listing gives up to about 140 seated and 300 floating, but those figures are the venue's description and a larger figure is also listed, so confirm your headcount. There is no covered hall, so ask what happens in the rain. The venue accepts outside decorators.

It is a quiet, out-of-the-way place, and one wedding guest found it deserted and dark. Guests who stayed in the last year also reported lizards in rooms, no water, a noisy room and rude staff. Visit before you book. Look at the rooms, ask who looks after your guests on the day, and get catering, alcohol and DJ rules in writing, because the listings disagree on all three.
