Bannerghatta Road is really two wedding markets stacked on one road. The near end, through JP Nagar, is city, garden properties and banquet halls that people reach in twenty minutes and drive home from the same night. Past the national park the character changes completely: larger resorts on several acres, with rooms on the property and the space to run a two or three day wedding.
That spread is the corridor's real advantage. A family deciding between "close and convenient" and "everyone stays together for the weekend" can look at both without changing area.
Resorts with rooms, and why that changes things
Several of the venues further out on Bannerghatta Road have their own accommodation, in some cases sixty rooms or more. If a meaningful part of your guest list is flying or driving in from outside Bangalore, this solves a problem that otherwise eats your budget and your patience: nobody books a separate hotel, nobody arranges shuttles, and the family that needs to be there at six in the morning for the ceremony is already on site.
It also changes the shape of the event. When guests are staying over, the mehendi the previous evening and the breakfast after the muhurtham stop being logistical headaches and become part of the wedding.
Capacity and what it means in practice
The venues here run from around fifty guests to five thousand, the widest range of any corridor we cover. At the top end that means genuinely large receptions, the kind where the guest list is not something you control. At the lower end there are garden venues comfortable with a sixty person function, which is harder to find than you would expect; most wedding venues are unhappy below two hundred.
Before you fix a date
Traffic on the JP Nagar stretch is heavy through the evening on weekdays. If your muhurtham is early morning this barely matters; if you are planning an evening reception, give guests more time than the map suggests.
The properties further out are quieter on weekdays and priced accordingly. A Thursday or Friday wedding on this corridor is worth asking about if your calendar allows it.
