The Tharavadu Mane

Heritage Malnad-style house in Yelahanka for intimate weddings up to 200

YelahankaBylakere–Veerasagara Road, Yelahanka, Bengaluru 560090

A traditional Malnad-style house on Bylakere–Veerasagara Road in Yelahanka, built around an open courtyard. Where most venues scale up, this one deliberately does not — it holds 150 seated and 200 floating, and the whole property is arranged for a wedding that size rather than a larger one squeezed down.

Two mantapas carry the ceremony. The main one is an elevated east-facing stage. Alongside it, a covered viewing mantapa with turf flooring and greenery around it, sheltered against both rain and afternoon heat — which matters more in an open-air venue than most families realise until the day.

The Mane itself is the heart of it: a traditional house with an aangan, the open inner courtyard, seating 50 to 100 around it. Haldi, mehendi, varpooje and engagement ceremonies happen here, with family close enough to see rather than spread across a lawn.

Eight rooms accommodate 40 to 50 people, including bride and groom suites furnished with antiques collected from across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The family rooms and dormitories are built from sustainable materials and stay naturally cool rather than needing air conditioning.

Dining is a semi-covered traditional hall seating 75 for plantain-leaf service. There is a working kitchen with storage, and you may bring your own caterer.

Antique arches, old window frames, a 250-year-old sit-out, a Ganesha temple and a lotus pond with a fountain do the work that decoration would otherwise have to. Parking takes 30 to 40 cars, which suits the guest count without overflow onto the road.
