MRF Greens Pavilion

An outdoor lawn venue on Chikkalur Road, off the Big Banyan Tree on the Mysore Road side, with an air-conditioned pavilion, a stage, dressing rooms and a separate dining area.

The location is the argument and the objection both. The Big Banyan Tree is a landmark people already drive out to at weekends, and the surroundings are open country rather than a levelled plot inside a layout — you get the quiet and the space that closer venues cannot offer. It is also genuinely out of town, so guests coming from Jayanagar or Indiranagar are making a journey of it, and that needs saying to a family before they fall in love with the photographs.

The pavilion is the useful part. Most lawn venues answer the rain question with a tent; here there is a covered air-conditioned space with the lawn alongside, so a June function has somewhere to go that is not a compromise.

Ten air-conditioned rooms on site, with separate rooms for the bride and groom to get ready. Parking for around two hundred cars on the property.

Outside caterers are permitted, vegetarian and non-vegetarian both, so the per-plate rate is yours to negotiate. Decor is in-house only. Overnight functions are not allowed, and the DJ is theirs rather than yours.
